Christopher W. Coyea, a Brockville native, graduated from BCI in 1979, received his Bachelor of Music Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, and did post graduate work in Opera Performance.

Chris has established a well deserved international artistic reputation as a performer in Opera and in concert.

As a member of the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble, he has appeared in numerous productions, including "Salome", "Tristan and Isolde", "Queen of Spades", "Carmen", "Wozzeck", and "Tales of Hoffman". After leaving the Ensemble, he performed with the Toronto, Winnipeg, Victoria, and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestras, as well as Orchestra London and the Hamilton Philharmonic. His European engagements include Tenor Soloist in Haydn’s "Creation", Rossini’s "Petite Messe Solennelle", Beethoven’s "Christus am Oelberge", Mahler’s "Das Lied von der Erde", Canio in "I Pagliacci" and "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with the Regensburg Choir.

Recent Canadian appearances include"The Turn of the Screw" with Pacific Opera Victoria and Tenor Soloist in "A Salute to Vienna" in Montreal.
